Cleansing for Health
Cleansing your body will return its function to a normal, healthy state. A natural body cleanse helps rid the body of destructive environmental toxins. In our everyday lives, we are exposed to toxins in the air we breathe -- cigarette smoke, pollution, dust, other airborne allergens. And still more dangerous substances show up in the food we eat, what with pesticides, fertilizer, food additives and preservatives, even hormones and antibiotics. Too many toxins in our bodies may be to blame for these symptoms:
fatigue
depression and anxiety
obesity
difficulty concentrating
digestive issues
skin ailments
Professor Alan Boobis OBE, Toxicologist, Division of Medicine, Imperial College London states that "The body’s own detoxification systems are remarkably sophisticated and versatile. They have to be, as the natural environment that we evolved in is hostile. It is remarkable that people are prepared to risk seriously disrupting these systems with unproven ‘detox’ diets, which could well do more harm than good"[as quoted in Wikipedia].
While the body may have its own natural solutions to remove these toxins, we believe that safe, natural remedies for health problems can help accelerate the process, leaving you feeling refreshed and energized.

Nutritive Cleansing: A Personal Testimony
Angie:In the summer of 2008, I read about this great practice in the book 'Inner Transformations Using Essential Oils' by Dr. LeAnne Deardeuff, DC & Dr. David Deardeuff, DC. I did a colon cleanse in July 2008 for a month (with Young Living products) as outlined in this book and found great success in regulating my colon functions.
In late February 2009, with spring in the air here in Arizona, I decided to do a simple, 5-day cleanse using Young Living products.
The kit available from Young Living costs $97.50 (wholesale) and $128.29 (retail):
The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse facilitates gentle and effective cleansing to improve overall health and well-being.*
This kit includes the following: Ningxia Red, an energizing, replenishing, whole wolfberry nutrient infusion (1 liter ); Balance Complete, a super-food-based, daily, superfood energizer and nutritive cleanse (26.4 oz.); Digest + cleanse, which soothes gastrointestinal discomfort and supports healthy digestion* ( 30 softgels ).
Note: The 5 - Day Nutritive Cleanse is a starting place. More intense and targeted nutrients may be required for your particular situation.
Angie:I journaled the experience. Some of my notes follow below:
Day One:
Dilute the NingXia Red with water. 3 hours after my first Balance Complete shake (vanilla tasting--yum!)-- I started to feel hungry. I ate 1/2 an apple as recommended. Ate 10 baby carrots at 4:30 (so good to crunch)-- took the kids to McDonald's for dinner around 6-- did not crave food there or feel hungry either. Even smelled yucky. 7 pm-- had my "supper" the Digest and Cleanse makes me burp peppermint! I have a little headache tonight.
Day Two:
I'm peeing a lot! After my shake and NingXia Red, I really wanted to finish the kids' toast-- the butter was calling my name! But I drank water instead. I felt hungry at 10:30 so had 1 plum with almonds and sunflower seeds (yes, both). And didn't eat lunch until 12:30. I am amazed at what I THINK I need to eat, but don't really NEED. This afternoon I found the greatest snack-- celery sticks and almond butter. Yummy!
Day Three:
I start to miss tasting other foods. Eating a cantaloupe at 11 helps with that. After a late lunch, I hold off a snack for an hour-- I don't feel faint or dizzy or low on energy however. I really am supplying my body with ENOUGH to be sustained. I stay up late this night and feel hungry by 11 pm. I don't feel rundown or sluggish, just ready for a snack.
Day Four:
Woke up at 5:15 after late night Friday-- felt energized and not groggy. I gave myself a little more leeway on the almonds and sunflower seeds today since I was sitting in a meeting all day and the others were snacking. I miss the fellowship of "breaking bread" with others.
Day Five:
I drink some Kefir at 9 am to start the end of my cleanse-- we are preparing for dinner at Claim Jumper and I want to prepare my digestive system. I have some carrot soup at noon and then choose a salad for supper. Oh, and a baked sweet potato, and some zucchini spears-- I only eat half of everything so I don't over do it! =)
Since the cleanse, I am choosing to limit my bread/wheat intake. I am also choosing vegetable options when available and whole foods-- nuts, beans, brown rice. I'm still drinking a lot of water. I am planning to start taking a YL product called Essentialzyme for those days that I eat poorly-- an extra enzyme to help digest food. I am not craving sweets and carbs like I did before the cleanse and Balance Complete is part of my breakfast smoothie. NingXia Red continues to strengthen me too!
We expect our bodies to do a lot for us each day and when they are not able to work efficiently, we get frustrated. Body cleansing is part of a lifestyle of health and wellness, not the solution on its own. If you choose to try a balanced, total cleanse, you may find relief for some of the many symptoms that are holding you back in life. In addition, by monitoring our food choices, limiting our environmental toxins, and finding positive outlets for stress, we can actually help our bodies and minds work together for optimal health and wellness.
