Deep Connections: Person-to-Person
When we call someone on the telephone, we take the chance that they are on the other line or screening our calls with updated features like call waiting and caller id. When we stop by someone's house, we may catch them in the shower, in an argument or too busy to talk with us.
Now that we can text message, instant message, Facebook, Twitter, email, Skype, or video message friends and family, our connections with others may seem more trivial and less relational than in the past. Should we be surprised that true intimacy is difficult to attain in our current culture? Is there a reason to intentionally personalize our interactions with others?
When we come together in deeply personal ways, we can free our minds and hearts from judgment, guilt, depression and anxiety. To have emotional wellness, we must open ourselves to others in new ways and we design ways of relating that will impact us in positive ways.
Part of Aaron's Current Journey
In June of 2009, Aaron wrote these autobiographical words, underscoring the point that deep connections with others are invaluable and necessary to develop self-awareness emotional wellness.
I was born Aaron Robinson Lahman. I am an evolving Soul that has a sincere passion for LOVE and PEACE. In the days that I have been blessed with thus far in my life I have been overwhelmed with words and actions of LOVE from brothers and sisters of mine. This includes the following: each of the students who have graced my classroom with their presence, my men’s spirituality group in college, my roommates and new friends met while in Jerusalem studying for 5 months, my immediate family members, those in the Midwest with Lahman and/or Plunkett connections, the boys in Jamaica who helped us do our work projects, the old man on the bus in Calcutta, India, those at Manchester College who I connected with deeply, my housemates in Glendale, co-workers and close friends met at Kellis High, and well…lets be honest…when I am conscious, AWAKE, and present and in the moment like I am today as I write this I will say that I am deeply grateful for all lives that I have crossed paths with!
So, what I am trying to say is…YOU taking the time to read this means that you and I are more directly connected together. If we sat together and had an opportunity to BE together and share space, the connection intensifies and strengthens. I feel a bond with those in pain over in India or in the slums of Kingston or in a house here in Glendale. I also am linked to individuals sharing laughter and joy together on a dance floor in Barcelona or at park in Cairo or at a swimming pool here in Glendale.

With that being said, I give thanks to the Mysterious Presence of Love that is amidst/within it all and calls us to love one another deeply!
I am extremely passionate about learning from students I meet at RSK and sharing my wisdom also brings me great joy! I seek to invite others I interact with to consider engaging in the creative process of living in a space of love for self, others, and everything that is! I am a licensed massage therapist which provides me the opportunity to share a physical, emotional and spiritual blessing to others in a professional setting! I also have a serious passion for facilitating life-altering workshops/presentations for people of all ages!
As fast as technology is changing and advancing, we must continue to teach each other that deep, vulnerable relationships are integral to whole person wellness. As Aaron concludes,
No one in the history of the world, in the present moment, or in the future will ever be YOU…so I simply say…Thank you for recognizing the Blessing and Light within you this moment and sharing LOVE and PEACE with the world as we change the world together starting NOW, today!
